Co-Ops / Work Experience Program
Funded by a PAsmart / Next Gen Industry Partnership grant made available from the Department of Labor and Industry, co-ops and work experience opportunities are available for secondary school youth who are hired by employers who represent the industries of Manufacturing, Building/Construction, and Healthcare & Social Assistance.
Eligible employers can receive up to 50% reimbursement of student wages up to a maximum of $5,000.00. More than one student can be employed by a company or healthcare facility.
Details of the the Co-Op / Work Experience program include:
- Must be a high school student and/or attend a technical training center; and
- Must be working in a Co-Op or Work Experience job that aligns to the student’s program of study; and
- Must pay at least $9.00 per hour; and
- Must work a minimum of 6 weeks or work at an average of 10-30 hours per week.
Funding is available from October 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
